About this venue
Origin story
Four generations of the Nowicki family grew bedding plants here for the north suburbs. When the wholesale trade moved to Michigan in 2015, Renata Nowicki kept the oldest glasshouse, replaced eleven hundred panes, and started renting it out rather than selling the land.
Why families choose us
The room is glass on three sides and the plants stay where they are. In January that means a warm, green, absurdly bright room while the rest of the city is gray, which is the reason most families book us in winter. We host by day, because the glasshouse is not lit for evening events and we would rather say so than sell you a room that goes dark at four. There is a long potting bench that families use for photographs and keepsakes, a level gravel path from the parking lot to the door, and parking for thirty. Chairs, tables and linens come with the room. We will make coffee and tea; anything more substantial comes from a caterer you choose.

Common questions
Can we hold an evening service here?
No. The glasshouse has no event lighting and we will not pretend otherwise — bookings run between nine and four, year round.
Is it warm in winter?
Yes, it is a heated growing house. Sixty-five degrees at the coldest, and brighter than anywhere else you will be that week.
Do you have parking?
Thirty spaces on gravel, two of them accessible, with a level path to the door. Street parking on Ridge is unrestricted on Sundays.
