About this funeral home
Origin story
Wladyslaw Kaminski opened a two-room parlor above a bakery in 1948, mostly for men he had known in the mill. His granddaughter Teresa runs it now with her son, and the mill is a self-storage building, and the families are the great-grandchildren of the men he buried.
Why families choose us
Four generations of one family have run this building, and the work has not changed as much as people assume. We collect your person, we sit down with you and write out what has to happen and in what order, and then we do it. Wakes here run two nights or one, whichever the family wants, and our chapel holds a hundred and twenty. We handle the paperwork nobody warns you about — certified copies, the cemetery deed, the veteran's flag application — and we coordinate with the parish rather than around it. Services are held in Polish, English or both, and we have a cantor we work with regularly when a family wants one.

Common questions
Can we hold the wake and the funeral Mass on the same day?
Yes. A morning visitation here followed by a Mass at your parish is the most common arrangement we do, and we handle the timing with the parish office.
Do you arrange burial at a cemetery we already own a plot in?
We work with every cemetery in Cook County and most in Lake and DuPage. Bring the deed if you can find it; if you cannot, we will trace it.
What do you need from us in the first hour?
Very little. A phone call, and someone who can tell us where your person is. Everything else can wait until we are sitting down together.
