About this venue
Origin story
Ling Wah opened in 1986 as a thirty-seat noodle shop run by the Ip family, who took over the banquet hall upstairs in 1998 when the association that owned it could no longer staff it. The second generation runs both now.
Why families choose us
The meal after the burial has a shape, and we know it. Sweet soup to end, an odd number of courses, no red on the tables, the white envelope and the sweet handed to each guest on the way out. Families tell us how much of that they want and we do exactly that much, without a conversation about why. Two floors, both with their own kitchen service, so a funeral banquet on the second floor never meets a wedding on the first. We can seat three hundred, and we can also do a table of ten in a side room on two hours' notice. Set menus run eight or ten courses at a fixed price per table; the kitchen does vegetarian tables without treating them as an afterthought, and the staff who take your booking speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

Do you know the customs for the meal after a burial?

Can you seat a vegetarian table?
Yes, cooked on its own and served at the same pace as the others. Tell us the number when you book rather than on the day.
How much notice do you need for three hundred?
Three days for the full hall. A single table in the side room we can do on two hours' notice most days of the week.
