Origin story
Ray Kowalski repaired projectors and camcorders in this same storefront from 1987 until the repairs dried up. His daughter Bea turned the back room into a transfer bench in 2012, and it is now the whole shop.
Why families choose us
Somebody in every family has the box. Slides from 1968, a wedding on Super 8, four VHS tapes with nothing written on them, and a shoebox of prints stuck together. We scan all of it here in Norwood Park — nothing is mailed to a plant in another state — and give it back to you on a drive with the originals in the order they came in. When there is a service coming, we work to the date. A rush transfer and a finished slideshow inside seventy-two hours is a normal week for us; tell us the funeral home and we will send the file in whatever format their chapel actually plays, which is not always the one they say. We can add music, and we will tell you plainly when a track cannot be used in a video posted publicly, and what to use instead.

Common questions
Do our originals leave the shop?
No. Everything is scanned at the bench in the back room and handed back in the order it arrived, including the box.
Can you finish before the funeral?
Usually. A rush transfer and a finished slideshow inside seventy-two hours is an ordinary week here — bring the box today rather than tomorrow.
Can we use their favorite song?
In the chapel, yes. If the video is going online afterward we will tell you which tracks cause trouble there and suggest something that will not.
