Origin story
Dana Whitlock worked in wastewater engineering for two decades and came to this from the chemistry rather than from funeral service. She licensed the first alkaline hydrolysis unit north of the city in 2023, and spends about half of every week simply explaining what it is.

Aquamation uses warm water, alkali and time instead of flame. It takes longer — most of a day rather than a few hours — and it uses a fraction of the energy. What comes back to you is the same white mineral ash a flame cremation returns, and there is usually more of it. We explain the process in plain language before anyone signs anything, because most families have never heard of it and several arrive certain they have misunderstood. We are licensed for flame cremation as well, and we will say so rather than steer you. Ashes come back in a paper urn at no extra step; if you want something to keep, we stock a small range and will happily point you elsewhere for anything we do not have.
