About this venue
Origin story
The union sold the building in 1994 and it spent twenty years as a carpet warehouse. Ada Wozniak and her brother bought it in 2016 with the tin ceiling under three coats of paint, and reopened it as a hall again in 2018 rather than as the eight apartments the zoning would have allowed.
Why families choose us
Bricklayers built this hall for their own union in 1923 and argued in it for sixty years. The oak floor, the pressed-tin ceiling and the windows down two walls are all original; the wiring, the lift and the restrooms are not. We rent by the room and by the block of hours, and we do not require you to use anyone in particular for food, flowers or music. There is a warming kitchen, a projector and screen on the main hall's stage, and a sound system that a phone can drive. Our manager stays in the building for the whole of your booking, which for most families is the part that matters: nobody is left to work out the lights an hour before people arrive.

Common questions
Can we bring our own food and drink?
Yes. There is a warming kitchen and ice, and you may bring your own alcohol. We will pour it for you if you would rather not.
Is the hall step-free?
The entrance and the main hall are, and there is a lift to the mezzanine. The yard has one shallow step we can ramp on request.
How late can an evening booking run?
Eleven on weeknights, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Our neighbors are residential, which is also why the yard closes at nine.
